Eligibility

Who can be a GK-12 Fellow?

Applicants must be:

• Seeking a Ph.D. in engineering or physics at Drexel University; preference will be given to students who have passed their candidacy exams

• U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents

• Enthusiastic about sharing knowledge of science, math and technology and able to communicate this knowledge to audiences of students, faculty and staff at all levels of expertise.

• Patient; able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced and sometimes chaotic middle school classroom setting; comfortable serving as a role model for higher education and learning in general.

• Extremely dependable; mature; able to adapt quickly to changing needs and circumstances.

• Positive and upbeat; able to inspire children to want to learn but who don’t always have the confidence or tools, and support teachers who are sometimes overwhelmed by their many daily responsibilities.
